Young Muslim couple engaged in early NikahMatrimony in Muslims is considered to be a very important part of Deen. Since Allah made each one of us in pairs, so every one of us needs someone at some point of life. We depend on our partners for our social, emotional, and intimacy needs. Today’s youth have developed their mindsets into westernized thinking of being self-independent and delaying marriages. This is because they prioritize their career ignoring how important it is as Muslims to fulfill Nikah as soon as possible. As we walk on the ideals of our Prophet (P.B.U.H.), we know that he married at an early age.

Prophet (P.B.U.H.) said, “Those who you believe, do not delay in three things:

  1. The offering of the obligatory 5-times daily Namaz.
  2. The offering of the funeral prayer when the deceased’s body is present.
  3. The marriage of a woman when her perfect match has been found.”

Delaying the Nikah by the youth has created havoc in the Muslim society. Youngsters indulge in illicit behaviors and cross the lines of innocence which would have been saved with the blessings of Nikah. Therefore, we have listed out some reasons to encourage our young Muslim brothers and sisters to marry at an early age.

  • Nikah reinforces your faith in Islam.

It is not just merely said that Nikah represents half of the Deen of an individual.

Prophet (P.B.U.H.) says, “A person who possesses the means to marry and does not marry then he is not from amongst us”.

Nikah saves a Muslim from indulging in any kind of distractions that Allah forbids. A married Muslim is safeguarded against Zina, haram relationships, homosexuality, fornications, and other restricted deeds. So, Nikah reinforces the beliefs of Islam in our subconscious minds without even us realizing.

  • Nikah makes Muslims more responsible.

Muslim bride and grooms are the soul-mates for each other who promise to share their entire life with one another. When, a bride enters the groom’s life he takes the full responsibility of her life, respect, religion, and character. In return, the bride also promises to take care of him and love him unconditionally. They both become more responsible individuals by helping each to grow and nourish.

  • Nikah helps to start a new family.

How else are Muslims supposed to bear children and start a family of their own? Nikah solves this for us and exalts our status in Jannah as soon as we become parents.

The Holy Qur’an says, “And wed the single among you”.

He created us and he knows what is best for us. This is the reason that he commanded us to marry as soon as possible and start to pour own families.

May Allah guide all of our Muslim brothers and sisters to walk on the path shown by Prophet (P.B.U.H.) who clearly says that the sooner the Nikah, the better.
