Allah (S.W.T.) created this world and also He made the rules that govern the world. The right and the wrong way of living one’s life has already been shown by Allah through the Holy book Qur’an and also through the exemplary life of the Prophet (Peace be upon him). Today, we will bring back your focus to how Nikah is one of the supreme laws that Allah has made for the Muslims. Therefore, this highlights the truth that all living beings have been created in pairs. These pairs undergo reproduction so as to continue the life cycle on earth.
Allah says,
“We have created all things in pairs that perhaps you may remember.” [Ath-Thariyat 51:49]
This is applicable to the whole humankind that is made of male-female pair giving birth to children and extending their families. We all know that the mankind was started by Adam, our father and Hawwa (Eve), our mother. From this pair, all the other people were created and so we are considered to be the children of Adam and Hawwa.
Allah says,
“O people! Revere your Lord who has created you from a single soul, created from it its mate, and dispersed from both of them many men and women.” [An-Nisa 4:1]
The following are the two Hadith where Allah talks of Nikah for bringing the souls together and initiating the way for reproduction.
“O People! We have created from one male and one female, and have made you nations and tribes so as to know one another. The noblest among you in the sight of Allah is the most pious. Verily, Allah is All-Knowing and All-Aware.” [Al-Hujuat 49:13]
“Allah has given you spouses from yourselves, and has given you, from your spouses, children and grandchildren, and has provided you with good things for your sustenance.” [An-Nahl 16:72]
Thus, we see that Allah has blessed the humankind with Adam and Hawwa and the He made the law of Nikah for our own existence.
