It might sound a very minimal topic to discuss but it needs our undivided attention as well. Muslim women when married to their husbands are in the habit of sharing every little detail with their man. This is a good habit as it reflects the level of comfort with one’s partner. No doubt that husband and wife need to have a friendly relationship where they are open to each other. Only with such a level of proximity, one can expect deeper routes. However, there is one Hadith mentioned in Qur’an which goes unnoticed by a lot of Muslim married women. It is regarding a woman describing another woman to her husband. Yes, you read it correctly. Allah has guided us in every small thing including this also.

Abdullah Bin Mas’ud narrated that the Messenger of Allah (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

“Let no woman mix with another woman and then describe that woman to her husband, so that it is as if he is looking at her; so vivid or stimulating is her description” (Al-Bukhari: 5240)

The wisdom behind this Hadith is that if a woman describes everything regarding a woman she met to her husband, the husband might be fascinated and might be seduced and start thinking about her. The husband might be so tempted by her beauty or character that he starts dreaming about her even while being with is actual wife.

This may sound  very less important to you but it is our responsibility to keep marriages safe. Such Hadith and sharing of knowledge is important to protect our Muslim sisters and ensure that they act modestly. Once you become friends with a new woman, you might be excited to share everything about her with your husband. But make sure that you do not give every small detail of her beauty and character to your husband as it may lead to sad consequences. Shaitaan plants the idea of trying to know more about that woman like her age, her marital status, and her address. Such Haram interest in a Na-Mahram creates disturbances in a healthy existing Nikah. Whenever there is a small fight between the couple, the husband might start tracing the example of the other woman he has grown liking for. So, it is important to control what you say and how you say.

In order to tackle this, you can always go to a sister or a trust worthy friend to pour your heart out. It is better to only mention about your meeting with the other woman instead of describing her features and characteristics. This way you will be rewarded for maintaining the stability in your marriage.
