In our previous article, our discussion was centered on the punishments of Zina in Islam for both married and unmarried Muslims. We feel that it is equally important to make our readers aware of the rulings of Allah. Keeping this in mind, today we will be throwing light on the punishment decreed by Allah for those who commit Zina in the Hereafter.

The ones who commit Zina do not only ruin their lives but they also face great tragedies in their grave and in the Hereafter. Allah is so displeased with such sinners that there is severe punishment for them in their graves as well.

A hadith related to this is being shared in this article where the Prophet (Peace be upon Him) had a dream.

“Last night, two men came to me in a dream and said, “Com with us.” I went with them to a sacred land.

We proceed until we came upon a hole in the ground that resembled a baking pit, narrow at the top and wide at the bottom. Babbling and voices were issuing from it. We looked in and saw naked men and women. Underneath the pit was a raging fire; whenever it flared up, the men and women screamed and rose with it until they almost fell out of the pit. As it subsided, they returned to the bottom. I said, “Who are these?” They said, “Come along.”

I said, “Since the beginning of this night, you have taken me to different places, and I have seen amazing things! What is all this that I saw?” They said, “We will now tell you. As for the naked men and women who were in the pit, they are men and women who indulge in Zina, and I am Jibril and this is Mikail.”

“We moved on until I saw people who were awfully swollen and had the most foul stench- their stench was like that of sewers. I asked, “Who are these?” They replied, “Those are the male and female adulterers.”

[Recorded by Ibn Khuzaymah (no. 1986), Ibn Hibban and others. Verified to be authentic by al-Albani (Sahih ut-Targhib no. 991]

The dreams that the Prophet (Peace be upon Him) saw were all truthful and they spoke of what Allah wanted the Prophet (Peace be upon Him) wanted to know. Since the Satan could not approach the Prophet in his sleep, so the dreams spoke the truth for the mankind.

Whoever reads this Hadith must know that the punishment for Zina is as real as your existence. Thus, such knowledge needs to be shared so that our Muslim brothers and sisters are made aware of the rulings in Islam regarding Zina.
