Blessed is the woman who can bear children

Today’s times have undergone a drastic change considering the change in lifestyle and adoption of various other foreign cultures. Such adoption has very deepening effects which we do not really bother. But in reality they influence our decisions and also takes us farther away from being good Muslims. In this blog, we want our readers to know how good it is to marry at such an age when a woman can easily bear more children. Talking about this to today’s women, many of them find it hard to bear children. Not only this, a lot of them try to avoid being mothers very soon in their lives.

Such a perception needs to be changed. Since one of the most important purposes of Nikah is reproduction, it is recommended to marry a younger woman who would normally be more likely to bear many children. In turn, this is more likely to apply to virgins than non-virgins.

Allah’s Messenger, the Prophet (Peace be upon him) said,

“Marry virgins because they have sweeter mouths and speech and more fertile wombs and are easier to be satisfied with little wealth.”

[as-Sahihah no. 623]

This clearly explains that the woman who are capable enough to bear healthy children are a blessing not only to the husband but t the whole Ummah as they help in increasing the population of Muslims in this world.

We have one more Hadith to share with our readers. Ma’qil Bin Yadir R.A. reported that a man came to Allah’s Messenger, the Prophet (Peace be upon him) and said,

“I have encountered a woman of honor and beauty, but she cannot bear children. Should I marry her?” He said, “No”. After asking him two more times, Allah’s Messenger the Prophet (Peace be upon him) said,

“Marry a woman who is loving and can bear many children, because I will boast of your number on the Day of Resurrection.”

[Sahih ul-jami no. 2940]

Thus, while deciding whom to marry, this condition should also be remembered and duly considered.
