Infinite Blessings of a Muslim Home

Home is one of the greatest blessings for which All Praises to be Allah. No one can deny the fact that having a home is a such a privileged honor and every one is not blessed with the same. Some of us complaint about the small homes that we live in or the lack of facilities and infrastructure without realizing the hardships and sufferings of those who do not have a permanent roof upon them.

Qur’an says:

“And Allah has made for you in your homes an abode.” ( Al-Nahl (16): 80)

A home is is blessed and exalted by Allah’s grace. It is a peaceful abode and a safe haven for the young and the old. A home is a place which represents each one of us. It is a place where we grow and develop relationships with our family members. A home is a place to be intimate with your wife and provide protection to your wives and children. It is the safest places for Muslim women to lead a noble life and guard their chastity. It is the place where mothers take care of their children and ensure that their upbringing is done in the right moral manner.

Allah tells us:

“And stay in your houses, and do not display yourselves like that of the times of ignorance.” (Al-Ahzab (33):33)

We normally ignore the advantages of living in a home as we do not take a lot of time to pay our gratitude to Allah for the same. Let us recall the incident when Allah punished the Jews of Banu Nadir. Allah took away this blessing and expelled them from their homes, as He said:

“He it is who drove out the disbelievers among the people of the Scripture (i.e., the Jews of the tribe of Banu al-Nadir) from their homes at the first gathering. They destroyed their own dwellings with their own hands and the hands of the believers. Then take admonition, O you with the eyes to see.” (al-Hashr (59): 2)

So, we see it is the duty of every Muslim parent to remind themselves as well as their children to thank Allah for the home they have blessed with. Also, it is very important to develop an Islamic environment in the home so that children can learn by actually practicing noble virtues. In the coming blog articles we will be discussing the importance of faith and moral virtues which makes a house a warm and loving home.
